Meet the Owner
Ridgeline Forestry was established in 2006 when three friends recognized a growing demand for professional forest management and land stewardship services throughout the Big Sky region. What started as a small local business was founded on a simple principle: healthy forests thrive through thoughtful, long-term care.
Owner Damien Conlin's passion for the outdoors began well before he entered the forestry profession. Raised in Northern Michigan, he spent much of his youth exploring the area's lakes, forests, and state parks, developing a lifelong appreciation for the natural landscapes and ecosystems that make those places special.
Damien began working in the tree care industry in 2004 and brought his dedication to forestry to Montana when he joined Ridgeline in 2013. Starting as a laborer, he eagerly embraced every opportunity to learn, gaining hands-on experience across all areas of the business. Through years of hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to exceptional service, he steadily advanced within the company, becoming a partner in 2019 and ultimately acquiring ownership of Ridgeline in 2022.
Today, Damien leads Ridgeline Forestry with the same hands-on approach and enthusiasm that first drew him to the industry. He believes forestry is about more than managing trees. It's about helping landowners protect, improve, and enjoy their property for generations to come. Whether reducing wildfire risk, enhancing forest health, restoring wildlife habitat, or preserving scenic views, his mission is to create healthier, more resilient landscapes that will endure for years ahead.
The relationships built with clients are among the most rewarding aspects of Damien's work. Many of his favorite projects involve long-term partnerships with landowners, where years of careful planning and stewardship produce meaningful, lasting results. He takes pride in helping clients better understand their land, make informed decisions, and witness the growth and health of their forests over time.
When he's not working in the woods, Damien can often be found enjoying Montana's outdoors through mountain biking, skiing, rafting, and just about any mountain adventure that keeps him connected to the landscapes he's dedicated to protecting.
